I go there to eat whenever I come home to visit family. They have a dedicated gluten free menu with local Austrian dishes and so far I have never had any problems eating there. My favorite dish is the Schweinsbraten (roast pork with potatoes and cabbage salad) and the Salzburger Nockerl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Griesgasse 23, 5020 Salzburg<\/em> | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sternbrau.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sternbrau.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-8037\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.roadaffair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/wiener-schnitzel-austria-shutterstock_165965831.jpg\" alt=\"Wiener Schnitzel, typical Austrian dish\" class=\"wp-image-8037\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Valerio Pardi \/ shutterstock.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gablerbr\u00e4u<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Though the Gablerbr\u00e4u doesn\u2019t have a gluten free menu, the waiters are very knowledgeable and can make you almost anything on their menu gluten free! I recommend trying the Beef Goulash. It is amazing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Linzer Gasse 9, 5020 Salzburg | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gablerbrau.at\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gablerbrau.at<\/a><br>\n<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steinlechner Jedermann\u2019s Wirtshaus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This local restaurant is a short bus ride outside of the city centre but it is totally worth a visit. They have a dedicated gluten free menu with many traditional dishes including Kasnockn (Sp\u00e4tzle with cheese and caramelized onions) which is a must try while in Austria. <em>Note: Kasnockn need to be ordered in advance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Aigner Stra\u00dfe 4-6, 5020 Salzburg | <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steinlechner-wirtshaus.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">steinlechner-wirtshaus.at<\/a><br>\n<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gasthaus Zwettler\u2019s<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The waiters here are very knowledgeable and gluten free dishes are clearly labeled on the menu. They are known for their Wheat Beers however just recently, they also started brewing a gluten free version. It tastes just like the original as it is made the same way. The only difference is that the gluten proteins are killed through a special distillation process. Usually those items are displayed together on one shelf, so just ask one of the store workers where the gluten free items can be found. Spar even has their own \u201cFree from\u201d brand for people with allergies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"tip-box\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> Be aware that the famous Mirabell Mozartballs (Mozartkugel) can contain traces of wheat.
